Latest Information on the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project

The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project is an approximately 70-mile-long high-voltage electricity transmission proposal  awarded to developer PSEG by PJM, the regional grid operator. The company has begun a routing analysis to further define the study area and to determine routing alternatives. At this time, the company has not filed a project application with the Maryland Public Service Commission, the agency with the official responsibility for reviewing this proposal, collecting public input, and issuing a decision on whether to permit construction of the project. Noting the significant public interest in the proposal, the Public Service Commission has established an email address for submitting public comment, [email protected]. The Public Service Commission indicates that if PSEG files an application and it opens a case, your comments will be added to the public comments file.

PSEG has indicated that it will communicate project updates in a variety of ways, including a dedicated project hotline 833-451-MPRP (6777), news releases, open houses and this project-focused website.
