ENERGY STAR Tax Free Weekend is February 13 – 15, 2021

Each year over the President’s Day weekend, Maryland shoppers can take advantage of our state’s Shop Maryland Energy Tax Free Weekend and save the 6% sales tax on qualifying ENERGY STAR© appliances; beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, through midnight on Monday February 15, 2021.

This statewide sales tax holiday showcases the vital role that energy efficient appliances play for residents, businesses and our environment. Since 1992, the ENERGY STAR© program and partners have helped American families and businesses save more than 4 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce over 3.5 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emission which is equivalent to the annual emissions of more than 750 million cars. In 2018 alone, ENERGY STAR©, along with partner organizations helped Americans avoid $35 billion in energy costs.
