BALTIMORE – The Maryland Energy Administration today announced the annual opening of the Fiscal Year 2025 Commercial, Industrial, & Agricultural Grant Program, a proven-effective funding partner for manufacturers, agricultural producers, and other businesses throughout Maryland.

“CI&A grants increase the number and variety of energy-efficiency investments in Maryland, providing a unique stream of support to several vital sectors of Maryland’s economy,” said Maryland Energy Administration Director Paul G. Pinsky. “These investments drive transactions that generate business growth and jobs, while also reducing energy waste and emissions – a win-win proposition for all corners of Maryland.”

Now beginning its 12th year of accelerating energy-efficiency investments in Maryland businesses, industry, institutions, and agricultural entities, the Commercial, Industrial, & Agricultural Grant Program has a total FY25 program budget of $3.1 million. Typical award values will be approximately $100,000 to $250,000 per project, with $400,000 as an absolute maximum for any single award. Funding is divided across three distinct Areas of Interest: existing facilities, new construction, and agricultural support structures. Eligible project proposals are those that reduce energy waste, displace fossil fuels, or both.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, February 14, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. Projects must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered for award funding. To advance the state’s clean energy policies, winning proposals are limited to those that avoid or displace fossil fuel-dependent technologies. Qualified proposals will be scored and awarded on a first-come, first come-served basis. The agency will score each application to determine award values. Scores will reflect each application’s quality of documentation and magnitude of energy savings. Disbursement of grant funds is achieved upon successful project completion. Full program information and application materials can be found in the program’s Funding Opportunity Announcement
