Maryland Energy Data Point – Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency
The Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency grant encourages innovative ideas to help vulnerable residents leverage cost-saving energy efficiency projects. Nonprofit organizations and local governments submit energy efficiency projects on behalf of citizens. Funding for this grant is made possible by the Strategic Energy Investment Fund. This grant received a Social Equity Award for being a national model energy efficiency program in 2019.
In 2020, the nonprofit Community Action Council of Howard County, Inc. received $470,156 in total awards. These funds will be used to upgrade 128 homes with cost-effective enhancements like air duct sealing, floor insulation, light bulbs and pipe insulation.
