Maryland Energy Data Point – Clean-Burning Wood and Pellet Stoves

The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is launching a new blog series entitled, “Maryland Energy Data Points” to explore how energy initiatives are impacting the lives of Marylanders.

Helping Maryland homeowners replace electric, non-natural gas fossil fuel heating systems or old wood stoves with  efficient, approved wood and pellet stoves ensures both cost savings and cleaner air. The Clean Burning Wood and Pellet Stove grant spurs the adoption of stoves that have an EPA efficiency rating of at least 70%. Last year 350 stoves were replaced as a result of this grant.
