Energy Career Milestone Assistant Program Director Gallicchio Celebrates 10 Years with MEA
by Kaymie Owen, CMP, Communications Manager
Assistant Director of Energy Programs Jenn Gallicchio is celebrating 10 years at the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). Jenn oversees so much of MEA’s program related activities it is challenging to list all of her duties. She is a one-stop energy info data center, helping all MEA energy program managers with their projects. One annual project that Jenn oversees is the compilation of the Strategic Energy Investment Fund (SEIF) report which details grant awards; estimated energy savings; and programs, projects and activities conducted at MEA over the past years.. The data demonstrates the achievements being made towards promoting affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy for the benefit of all Marylanders (click here to read the 2018 report). The SEIF is comprised of a variety of funding sources including proceeds from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) auctions.
Jenn is also oversees our customer service process and provides monthly recognition to our team members who are providing outstanding customer service to stakeholders in and outside of the agency. She is our living history for all MEA programs and we would be lost without her support.
Prior to her current role, Jenn was a MEA energy efficiency program manager, primarily working with local governments and non-profit organizations. Jenn is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. In her spare time, Jenn enjoys reading and exploring outdoor spaces throughout Maryland. Connect with her on LinkedIn or email.
