Charge Up – The new Maryland Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Rebate program is accepting applications

The Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20) Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Rebate (EVSE) applications are now being processed for payment. Please note, all waitlisted FY19 applications will be processed first in the order they were received. Please allow extra processing time as MEA works through this backlog. Note that the FY20 program contains new terms and conditions as a result of the Chapter 757 of the 2019 Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland (Clean Energy Jobs Act). Please consult the Terms and Conditions document for additional information.

Waitlisted FY19 applications
Funding for the FY19 program was depleted last February but MEA continued to collect and date applications for a waitlist.  All waitlisted applicants all received email notification of their application status. July 1, 2019 marked the State’s new fiscal year and waitlisted FY19 applications are being processed in the order they were received.

MEA is working with Marylanders to expand the State’s growing electric vehicle recharging infrastructure through the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Rebate Program 2.0. Residents, governments and businesses are eligible for a rebate after purchasing or installing a qualified electric vehicle charging station. In order to receive these rebates, eligible participants must apply with MEA, which will issue rebates on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications must be received by MEA within 6 months of the date that the equipment or install expenses were incurred and fall between July 1, 2017, but before June 30, 2020 grant timeline.

The EVSE Rebate Program 2.0 is a new program unique and separate from previous funding opportunities, established by legislation under the Clean Cars Act of 2017.  To get more details click here.
