Energy Grants Saves Maryland Farmers Over $750,000
The Kathy A.P. Mathias Agriculture grant has saved Maryland farmers over $750,000 dollars since 2012. Dedicated to the memory of Kathleen Arlee “Kathy” Petry Mathias of Ocean City, who passed away Aug. 15, 2011 after a battle with cancer. The wife of Maryland State Senator James N. Mathias Jr., Kathy was an inexhaustible advocate for Maryland’s Eastern Shore and its farming community. This annual grant is awarded on a competitive basis to Maryland farms and agricultural businesses who significantly reduce their energy use. For more details on the grant, click here.
