June 2024 Honorees

Abebi Ahmed 
The Office of Fiscal Services would like to nominate Abebi Ahmed (Laila) for Doing Great Service! Laila started with the fiscal unit in a contractual role in late 2023 to help our Accounts Payable (A/P) unit manage increased workloads due to the eMMA conversion. She did a wonderful job of learning the process and quickly got up to speed on all things A/P, becoming a valuable member of the team. In April 2024, a full time position opened in our payroll unit, and we were thrilled to have Laila join us as a full-time employee. While she was learning the payroll process, we still had some staff shortages in A/P, so we tasked Laila to help the A/P unit. She handled this dual role wonderfully and really helped the A/P unit to stay on time with our payments while also ensuring she learned her new role and was effective in processing payroll each week. Her flexibility in helping to manage the workloads from two units is a testament to her team first mentality. Thank you for your hard work and extra efforts!

Kirsten Jackson 
The Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Unit would like to recognize Kirsten Jackson, Executive Associate for the Facilities Management Division. Kirsten has been an exemplary partner in supporting the daily operations and workflows with the CMMS Unit. Kirsten is highly responsive, and embodies all the administrative values set by DGS. With her increasing responsibilities in the administration area, she handles all requests from our unit and takes the time to resolve the problems posed to her and provides a timely and professional response. The CMMS Unit would like to recognize Kirsten for Doing Great Service.
