DGS Annapolis Employees Recognized

The weather was fine. The sun was shining. And DGS employees in Annapolis were having a great time at the lunch where their good work was showcased. “One week out of the year is set aside to acknowledge and bring attention to the good work our dedicated employees perform,” said Secretary Gail Bassette. “It’s good to celebrate them one week out of the year, but at DGS, we appreciate their work every day.”

Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford made a cameo appearance at the event, which was held May 8 at the Miller Senate Office Building. A former DGS Secretary, he told employees that he knows of the many and varied responsibilities DGS has and how important they are to the functioning of State government. After his brief remarks, he stayed for photos with Secretary Bassette and those employees who were recognized for their milestone years of service.

“It made it really special to have both the Secretary and the Lieutenant Governor at the lunch,” one employee said.
