Jonathan Swiderski
The Office of State Procurement has nominated Jonathan for doing a job well done for the Architecture and Engineering Request for Proposals (RFP) Mussel Hatchery project. This project was his first RFP, presenting many challenges along the way that would trip up even the most seasoned Procurement professional. There has not been a similar project completed in the past five years.  First, given the specialized requirements, it was difficult to identify firms that would be capable. Jon took on the challenge of identifying and directly soliciting firms head-on. Unfortunately, he had to cancel the project multiple times to complete it successfully. Jon did not waver in his efforts to see the project through. Even after all that effort and hard work, he still received a single proposal. He successfully defended the single source through his effectively communicating the procurement officer’s determination, demonstrating his efforts and attention to detail in navigating the procurement process. After all the obstacles, his contract award recommendation received BPW approval with no discussions and he was able to award the contract. Great Job, Jon!
