March Honorees

Alicia Sweeney is temporarily reassigned to work with MDResponds, working on processing and onboarding volunteers to work on various COVID-19 Pandemic missions. Alicia has approached her reassignment with a customer service orientation, toward the volunteers, toward the staff at MDR, and with those of us who are also working on volunteer onboarding. She’s shared shortcuts and time savers that she has discovered working in a new-to-her system, and has developed a proposal which may revamp the process and make it much more effective and efficient. She’s displayed a great attitude and a willingness to see a need and find a way to attempt to solve it.

John O’Brien has been with the Facilities Engineering Division for over 4 years and serves as our Subject Matter Expert in all things hazardous such as organic matter (mold), lead paint, and asbestos containing materials. Even while working in these environmentally sensitive areas, John continually provides outstanding service to all customers as evidenced by the thank-you we received from one of the Using Agencies we support: I just wanted to reach out to you and share our appreciation of the work that John O’Brien provided us with the mold remediation project and pipe insulation in three (3) of our BHA Buildings on Spring Grove Campus. We have had our share of challenging problems but the sharing of knowledge and teamwork provided by John made this a successful project. It was truly a pleasure working with your staff and receiving great customer service. Being recognized by others for effective and efficient project management and great customer service is awesome and for these reasons, we nominate John O’Brien for being CAUGHT DOING GREAT SERVICE!!
