February Honoree

DGS is focused on service to our customer agencies, other State government entities and internally to support our colleagues and coworkers.  Jackie Koppenhaver is at the center of all DGS information, her role is essential to providing those services.  She is key to tracking the activities and finances of all DGS design, construction and energy projects and then communicating that information to managers, senior administrators, other agencies and legislators often, at a moment’s notice so they in turn, can make timely and appropriate strategic decisions about projects and policy. Her interactions at DGS involve dozens of other staff.  As a result of her team-player approach, she enjoys excellent rapport with her superiors, peers and subordinate coworkers. Recent praise includes remarks complimenting her promptness, thoroughness, recall of details and praise for working on her days off: Thanks so much! I appreciate you getting back to me but sorry you did it while you were out today…to be super corny, I guess that’s what “Doing Great Service” is all about. You can’t help yourself. (Carissa Ralbovsky -DBM) The database system that she manages is cumbersome, outdated and has limitations. Yet, with creative solutions and workarounds, she and coworkers get good performance from it.  By consistently and reliably performing and leading her team to address a multitude of recurring and unique requests from a variety of sources with accuracy, grace, courtesy, and superior-quality service, she exemplifies the ideals of DGS service.
