Tyler Rybkowski hit the ground running as the Building Manager for the Tawes Building. He made it clear that his goal was to take out any obstacles that would prevent him from making Tawes a building that people want to come to work. Tenants took to his can-do attitude and noticed a marked improvement in building conditions. Tyler became our go-to guy in building safeguards for MCP security stations throughout the Annapolis Capital Complex, reception areas in all buildings, and the James Senate Cafeteria. He is also great at sharing his knowledge with his peers and encouraging their professional growth. Tyler is truly a highly valuable member of the OFM Annapolis team.

DGS is focused on service to our customer agencies, other State government entities and internally to support our colleagues and coworkers.  Jackie Koppenhaver is at the center of all DGS information, her role is essential to providing those services.  She is key to tracking the activities and finances of all DGS design, construction and energy projects and then communicating that information to managers, senior administrators, other agencies and legislators often, at a moment’s notice so they in turn, can make timely and appropriate strategic decisions about projects and policy. Her interactions at DGS involve dozens of other staff.  As a result of her team-player approach, she enjoys excellent rapport with her superiors, peers and subordinate coworkers. Recent praise includes remarks complimenting her promptness, thoroughness, recall of details and praise for working on her days off: Thanks so much! I appreciate you getting back to me but sorry you did it while you were out today…to be super corny, I guess that’s what “Doing Great Service” is all about. You can’t help yourself. (Carissa Ralbovsky -DBM) The database system that she manages is cumbersome, outdated and has limitations. Yet, with creative solutions and workarounds, she and coworkers get good performance from it.  By consistently and reliably performing and leading her team to address a multitude of recurring and unique requests from a variety of sources with accuracy, grace, courtesy, and superior-quality service, she exemplifies the ideals of DGS service.

Maryland Public Television (MPT) is one of the many DGS Client Agencies for the Office of Design, Construction & Energy. It is our only client Agency with TV studios and is currently under a $9.5M renovation and expansion to one of the studios. DGS is the procurement control agency for MPT for design and construction, therefore we also provide the project management and construction inspection for the life of the project. Studio A was roughly 7,500 square feet and is being expanded by 5,500 square feet. This expansion and renovation will allow MPT to host live performances in a code compliant space. The client sent the following email catching the whole DGS team in the act of ‘Doing Great Service”: As we reach the 10 month point in this project, I want you to know how pleased I am with the DGS staff assigned. Ray Kaliush, Doug Karmasek, Russ Miller, and Kris Poteraj are all doing a great job. To say the interaction with ..’the contractor’… has been challenging, would be an understatement. Your team provides the steady hand that guides heated discussions and ensures this project is constructed as designed. As the end user MPT is grateful for this DGS Team. George Beneman, Chief Technology Officer, Maryland Public Television.
