December Employee of the Month – Buddy Long

Harold (Buddy) Long, maintenance supervisor at the Rockville District Court/MSC, is an excellent employee who works well with coworkers, tenants and contractors. He is honest, dependable and always gives 110% to DGS. Buddy thinks outside the box on needed repairs before calling an outside contractor. He is always looking for ways to cut costs and save state funds.

Buddy has exemplary customer service skills. As part of his morning rounds, he greets tenants and visitors entering the building and assists with their needs. He has accommodated visitors who were afraid to ride the elevator by escorting them up the stairs so they felt more comfortable.

Before joining DGS in 2011, Buddy served in the Marine Corps and did two tours in Vietnam; he is a proud veteran. He also worked in the hospitality business and or the Carroll County Government.
