MEDIA ADVISORY: YouthWorks Closing Ceremony

Baltimore, MD – The YouthWorks summer work program gives Baltimore City young people between the ages 14 and 21 opportunities to experience real world work environments where their mentors help them develop positive work habits and attitudes, as well as learn about the requirements of different jobs. Some of their work experience is devoted to career development and financial literacy.

The five-week internship program is coming to a close this week for YouthWorks participants at DGS, DHR and MSDE. All of the students will be presented with certificates at the closing ceremony.

WHO:     Guest Speaker, Councilman Brandon Scott, 2nd District, Baltimore City, General Services Secretary Gail Bassette, Maryland Schools Superintendent Lillian Lowery, Human Resources Secretary Sam Malhotra, YouthWorks students at DGS, MSDE and DHR
