December Employee of the Month – Jane Bailey

Jane Bailey, Program Manager/BPW Liaison in the Procurement & Logistics division, retired on December 1 after nine years of exemplary service to DGS. During her tenure, she provided extraordinary value to the P&L team. Thanks to her work ethic, reliability and resilience, the division kept pace with the state’s construction and Architecture/Engineering needs.  She created a positive workplace culture through an open willingness to support her employees and led by example through her willingness to tackle the tough tasks.

Jane leveraged vast procurement experience (25 years!!!) to analyze critical and complex procurement issues and develop solutions that ensured optimal outcomes. She oversaw a decade of successful projects, including the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center, the Enoch Pratt Library renovation, Easton & Havre de Grace readiness centers, as well as the design of the new Salisbury Animal Health Laboratory and the renovation of the historic Annapolis Post Office.

Jane spearheaded BPW administration for all DGS agenda items, as well as coordinated all communications and responses to board member inquiries. She also volunteered to handle urgent special procurement projects above and beyond her normal duties. This included procurement actions for FOM, Energy, and the Office of the Secretary.
