“Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business”

Maryland history boasts trailblazing women in labor and business who remain an inspiration and serve as role models to this day. Many of the represent firsts: the first woman publisher, Mary Catherine Goddard; the first woman to run a print shop, Anne Catherine Hoof Green; the first American-born saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton; and the first woman on the Maryland Court of Appeals, Rita Charmatz Davidson, who was also the first woman to serve in a Maryland Governor’s cabinet.

This is the very short list. To learn more about Maryland women who blazed new trails and opened doors to women who came after them, visit the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame. You, too, will be inspired.
