The Maryland Capitol Police (MCP) recently participated in the annual Maryland Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Police Plunge Photo Shoot at Sandy Point State Park. The event officially kicks off the Torch Run’s annual fundraising drive to benefit Special Olympics – Maryland. MCP participates yearly in the event, which helps raise money and awareness for Special Olympics.

Speaking about taking the annual plunge, Chief Wilson said,  “It’s always fun and well worth it for the cause of Special Olympics Maryland.”

MCP will also be participating the 2016 Polar Bear Plunge on January 30th, 2016, also held at Sandy Point State Park. Donations for Special Olympics Maryland can be made by visiting the Special Olympics Maryland website at www.somd.org/give, or by going to the Plunge Maryland website at www.plungemd.com
