Atlantic Population Canada Goose Season Begins Nov. 17

Split-Season Hunt for Migrating Waterfowl

Maryland’s migratory Atlantic Population Canada goose hunting season begins Nov. 17, and is split into two segments: Nov. 17 through Nov. 23, 2018, and again from Dec. 14, 2018 through Feb. 2, 2019.

The daily bag limit is two geese a day in the Canada Goose Hunting Zone.

 “Hunting geese during gives waterfowl hunters a chance to spend time in the field with friends and family as they attempt to harvest a goose for the table,” Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Paul Peditto said. “The sights and sounds of a goose hunt, complete with decoy placement, hard working retrievers and the camaraderie of the blind, are what bring Maryland goose hunters back year after year.”

The possession limit for all migratory game birds is three times the daily bag limit. More information on waterfowl seasons, regulations and license requirements is available online. Licenses, stamps, and permits may be purchased online, by phone at 855-855-3906, at a regional service centers or at any one of the more than 250 retailers statewide.
