Maryland Tree Nursery Now Accepting Orders
Authentic Wye Oak Seedlings Available
Tired of mowing? Consider converting part of your grasslands to woodlands with trees from the John S. Ayton State Forest Tree Nursery, managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
New this year are Beautyberry Shrub seedlings – Maryland native plants – which beautify landscapes and improve habitat, as well as authentic Wye Oak seedlings.
“Most of our customers are individual landowners who enjoy adding trees to their property for beauty and conservation purposes,” said Maryland State Forest Tree Nursery Manager Richard Garrett. “Trees benefit the environment as well as enhance natural habitat for birds, squirrels and other wildlife. The nursery seeks to provide exceptional customer service with high-quality seedlings at competitive prices.”
The nursery is now accepting seedling orders for large plantings on private lands and offers over 50 conifer and deciduous species, from Douglas Fir to River Birch, to meet a variety of aesthetic preferences and conservation needs, be it buffer plantings, soil protection, watershed protection, wildlife habitat or windbreak protection.
A minimum order of 25 seedlings per species is required. Supplies are limited.
