The Maryland Natural Resources Police charged men in two counties with violations of fish and game laws.

Two Montgomery County men were ticketed Sunday for multiple counts of illegal fishing by officers on patrol at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis.

Valeriy Borisovich Bakaushin, 62, and Igor Paskhal, 50, both of Gaithersburg, were each charged with possession of four undersized striped bass, one undersized black drum and one undersized spotted sea trout. Each count carries a maximum fine of $1,000.

In addition, Bakaushin was charged with multiple counts of impaired boating and driving, illegal possession of alcohol and negligent operation of a vessel. Paskhal also was charged with fishing without a license and failure to have a second form of identification.

Officers discovered the violations at 9 p.m. while checking anglers returning to the marina launch ramps.

In August, Paskhal was found guilty in St. Mary’s District Court of possession of female crabs and was fined $150.

A court date has not been set in Anne Arundel District Court.
