Meet Mr. Isadore Beattie, the Installation Status Report Manager for the Command Facility Management Office, Maryland Military Department. Beattie has served in this capacity since January 2007 and has contributed to helping his department receive team awards such as the Team Spirit Award.

\u201cWorking with the Maryland Military Department has provided me a wealth of information and experience,\u201d said Beattie. \u201cThe individuals I work with are knowledgeable and as always willing to lend a helping hand. We have good, fair leadership and it\u2019s hard to imagine myself anywhere else.\u201d

As part of his job responsibilities Beattie assists in supporting annual infrastructure inspections for 206 buildings occupied by the MDARNG totaling in over 2.5 million square feet. He coordinates with about 40 staff members to complete quarterly ISR service performance reports, annual service cost reports as well as annual mission capacity reports. This position functions as support for the daily operation of the CFMO and assists with ensuring adherence to maintaining and obtaining infrastructure statuses.

\u201cMy favorite part of working for the state is being able to see the joy on the Soldiers faces when they are moving in to a new modern facility,\u201d said Beattie. \u201cKnowing I was able to play a major role in renovations, add-ons and construction of new armories through ensuring the ISR infrastructure ratings were submitted and up to date is an amazing feeling. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beattie also serves as a volunteer with the Maryland Defense Force as the Deputy Commander of the 121st Engineer Regiment. The prime mission of the MDDF is to be a force multiplier for the Maryland National Guard. The MDDF assist the MDNG in the event of a state disaster to include floods, tornados, or hurricanes. In addition to his official position as deputy commander Beattie also supports the MDNG state public affairs office by documenting significant events such as the inauguration of Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and the retirement of U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Timothy Gowen.

\u201cIsadore has been a critical part of the Maryland Military Department public affairs team,\u201d said U.S. Air Force Maj. Ben Hughes, state public affairs officer for the Maryland National Guard. \u201cHe is always ready to support missions with his photographic skills and they are a tremendous asset to telling the story of our Soldiers, Airmen, and Maryland Defense Force volunteers serving across the state.\u201d
