Within the United States military, a cyber team\u2019s most important tasks include defending military networks and weapons platforms and protecting America&#8217;s critical infrastructure.<br>The 175th Cyberspace Operations Squadron, Maryland Air National Guard, based in Middle River, Maryland, provided electronic warfare support for various entities while at Southern Strike 2022. Southern Strike 2022 is a large-scale, joint multinational combat exercise hosted by the Mississippi National Guard that provides tactical level training for the full spectrum of conflict.<br>As a cyberspace operations Squardon, the 175th is responsible for protecting military networks and the country against cyberattacks from enemy forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/05\/SCADA-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/05\/SCADA-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/05\/SCADA-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/05\/SCADA-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur main goal is to come in, integrate and be able to bolster the support that is required for our mission,\u201d said by Maj. Dan Sorensen, cyber component lead, Maryland Air National Guard. \u201cOne of the key components is often times communication.
