Gen. Timothy Gowen, adjutant general for Maryland. \u201cThis isn\u2019t a mission we would normally expect to be doing, but it\u2019s one we\u2019re well able to handle. Gen. Janeen Birckhead, assistant adjutant general \u00ac\u2013 Army for the Maryland National Guard, was named by Gov. Larry Hogan to the lead of the state\u2019s Vaccine Equity Task Force. She will help ensure the vaccine is accessible to minorities and other underserved communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Governor realizes a whole of Maryland response is needed,\u201d said Birckhead. \u201cEvery demographic and every walk of life is included in this endeavor. Maryland will not overcome this unless we all are at our best, and that means vaccine for all who want it.
