Currently released sites will be reviewed and approved by the public affairs office or department director.\u200b\r\n\r\n<a title=\"Request a new site\" href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/social-media-registration\/\"><strong>Request a new site<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u200b\r\n\r\n<strong>Approved social media sites\/pages\u200b are listed below in the\u00a0Units in the Maryland National Guard &amp; MDDF section.<\/strong><\/div><\/div><div id=\"faq-8339\" class=\"arconix-faq-wrap\"><div id=\"faq-MyleadershipwantsaFacebookpagewhatdoIdo\" class=\"arconix-faq-title faq-closed\">My leadership wants a Facebook page, what do I do?<\/div><div class=\"arconix-faq-content faq-closed\"><p>\u200bProperly maintaining a social media presence while growing and engaging an audience, is a lot of work. Many sections feel that a social media page is a good idea not understanding the work needed\u00a0to\u00a0frequently post\u00a0relevant and timely content. People may be interested in your unit\/section and will be discouraged from engaging with your page due to it not being frequently updated. If you don\u2019t care, they wouldn\u2019t care. A better option\u00a0than having 20 people follow your page\u00a0or the last post being\u00a0from 2011\u00a0is to send content to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/upar-submissions\/\"><strong>Public Affairs Office for them to post\u200b<\/strong><\/a>. The MDNG PAO can make recommendations to your leadership and can help you get the page\u00a0started.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"faq-8342\" class=\"arconix-faq-wrap\"><div id=\"faq-WhatifIalreadyhaveapagestartedFacebook\" class=\"arconix-faq-title faq-closed\">What if I already have a page started? (Facebook)<\/div><div class=\"arconix-faq-content faq-closed\"><p>\u200bEach new and currently established site requires making the MDNG PAO an administrator and all other personnel will be made editors. Editors and the MDNG PAO will ensure access to the site if any changes are required.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/323502271070625\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Page Roles on Facebook<\/strong><\/a>. Only the MDNG PAO will respond to threats, hate speech. Stay in your lane and talk on what you know, your expertise. Messages on upper echelon issues should be referred to the MDNG PAO. The MDNG PAO will setup a language filter that automatically hides comments containing certain words. Sites are family friendly and editors may hide, comments that violate the terms of the page listed in the about section. The terms of the page will be provided\/setup by the MDNG PAO and customized to your organization.\u200b<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"faq-8346\" class=\"arconix-faq-wrap\"><div id=\"faq-Whoshouldhaveaccessthepage\" class=\"arconix-faq-title faq-closed\">Who should have access the page?<\/div><div class=\"arconix-faq-content faq-closed\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/ng\/social-media-registration\/\"><strong>Each unit\u2019s site must have an appointed representative on record with the PAO\u200b<\/strong><\/a>. This representative can be the\u00a0<strong>Unit Public Affairs Representative<\/strong><em>\u00a0(resources at the top of this page)<\/em><strong>\u200b<\/strong>, readiness NCO, first sergeant, unit commander, etc. Multiple people, full-time personnel, and senior leaders work well too. The PAO may post content on the page but will not maintain the site on the unit or section\u2019s behalf.
