After several months of planning, members from the Maryland Vaccine Equity Task Force, a community-based testing team from the Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland National Guard, opened a new testing site at the City of Praise Family Ministries in Landover, Maryland, in early April. The site can provide over 400 COVID-19 tests per day. 

U.S. Army Sgt. Sarah Kim, a Healthcare Specialist with the 104th Medical Company Area Support, has helped support the Maryland National Guard COVID-19 response. She joined the active Army in 2015 before transferring to the MDNG in 2020 to continue to give back to the country that has given her so many opportunities.

During most of 2020, Havre de Grace High School was temporarily shut down to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, and continued to be closed to the public. The 175th SFS’s ongoing partnership and close ties with the Havre de Grace community allowed them to take advantage of the site’s availability for their training.
