Whitley, the acting Secretary of the Army, visited Maryland Army National Guard Soldiers supporting operations at a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site located at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. Whitley, raised in Western Maryland, discussed COVID-19 operations with Maryland National Guard senior leaders and Charles County officials before touring the vaccination facilities.

The Maryland Army National Guard’s 115th Military Police Battalion provided area security and participated in joint training with the United States Capitol Police on Jan. 27-28, 2021, in Washington, D.C. This interagency collaboration comes in the final days of the security mission in support of the inauguration of President Joe Biden.
