After Lamb graduated from Defense Information School – where Service members of every stripe attend to learn about the different fields in communications, video, radio broadcasting, and graphic design – he immediately volunteered to assist with his new home state’s COVID-19 relief operations.
“It’s definitely a dynamic time for the Maryland National Guard. So it’s no surprise that dynamic soldiers are stepping in to join our ranks,” stated Major Brendan Cassidy, unit commander of the 29th MPAD.
Lamb, 25, was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and has been married to Laurel Lamb for four years. He joined the Texas Army National Guard in 2016 as a parachute rigger with the 294th Airborne Quartermaster Company and has performed 60 parachute jumps.
“They were sad, but my wife and I are happy with the decision and looking forward to serving the state and new opportunities.” replied Lamb when asked how his family and friends felt about his move to Maryland.
He is one of several Soldiers who sought to support the Maryland National Guard’s Public Affairs Office during the state’s fight against COVID-19.
“[If I could] tell you one thing, it’s a lot colder here [in Maryland]. It’s colder and more expensive, but I wouldn’t trade it for the whole world,” Lamb also said. He is willing to face any challenge to adapt to the Maryland lifestyle, since he wants to further his career in public affairs in the Maryland Army National Guard.
