(HANOVER, MD) \u2014 Maryland State Police are investigating a possible road rage incident that allegedly resulted in shots fired, sending one man to the hospital with injuries Sunday afternoon in Anne Arundel County.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The injured victim\u2019s identification is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.\u00a0 He was transported from the scene with a gunshot wound by medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he continues to receive treatment of his injuries. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The victim was driving a gray Chevrolet Malibu with a one-year-old child in the vehicle. The child was uninjured during the incident.<\/p>\n
The suspect vehicle is described as a gray sedan, possibly a BMW. Police do not have a description of the driver at this time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The preliminary investigation indicates the incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on northbound 295 prior to Arundel Mills Boulevard. Witnesses told police that two vehicles were involved in what appeared to be a road rage incident.\u00a0 One witness told police they observed several flashes come from the suspect\u2019s vehicle which looked like gunfire. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division responded to the scene to assume the investigation.\u00a0 Troopers examined the victim\u2019s vehicle and found evidence indicating multiple shots struck the victim’s vehicle.\u00a0 Forensic crime scene analysts from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division also responded to the scene to process and collect evidence.<\/p>\n
