{"id":20451,"date":"2020-10-16T11:09:13","date_gmt":"2020-10-16T15:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/?p=20451"},"modified":"2020-10-16T11:09:13","modified_gmt":"2020-10-16T15:09:13","slug":"maryland-state-police-arrest-caroline-county-man-on-child-pornography-charges-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/2020\/10\/16\/maryland-state-police-arrest-caroline-county-man-on-child-pornography-charges-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Maryland State Police Arrest Caroline County Man On Child Pornography Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(DENTON, MD) \u2013 Investigators with the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Upper Shore Region, arrested a Caroline County man Thursday on child pornography charges.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, Daniel Provencal, 47, of Denton, Maryland, is charged with 11 counts of distribution of child pornography, 11 counts of possession with intent to distribute child pornography and 18 counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held without bond at the Caroline County Detention Center.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation stemmed from information received regarding Provencal having distributed and being in possession of child pornography through various social media outlets.\u00a0 Investigators obtained a search warrant for Provencal\u2019s residence which was served on Thursday.\u00a0 Provencal was subsequently arrested at his residence during the serving of the search warrant.<\/p>\n<p>All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n<p>The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Upper Shore Region, is comprised of investigators assigned to the region.\u00a0 The region consists of Kent, Queen Anne\u2019s, Talbot, Caroline, and Dorchester counties.\u00a0 Troopers assigned to the unit investigate the most serious while also providing investigative support to allied agencies in and throughout this area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/10\/Daniel-Provencal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-20452\" src=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/10\/Daniel-Provencal-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/10\/Daniel-Provencal-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/10\/Daniel-Provencal.jpg 403w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Daniel Provencal<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(DENTON, MD) \u2013 Investigators with the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Upper Shore Region, arrested a Caroline County man Thursday on child pornography charges.
