(Stevensville, MD) \u2013 Maryland State Police are investigating a pedestrian fatal in Queen Anne\u2019s County.<\/p>\n
The deceased is identified as Sarah Oliver, 82, of Stevensville. Oliver was transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown where she was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
Shortly before 10:30 a.m. this morning, troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to northbound Route 8\/Romancoke Road at Mallard Drive in Stevensville for the reported incident. Upon their arrival, emergency medical service personnel were providing medical treatment to the victim on the scene.<\/p>\n
The preliminary investigation indicates Oliver was struck by a 2007 Hummer traveling northbound on Route 8. Investigators believe Oliver was coming from Mallard Drive and walked in to the middle of the road when the incident occurred.\u00a0 It is unknown at this time where Oliver was going.<\/p>\n
The driver and sole occupant of the 2007 Hummer is identified as Eileen Neely, 74, of Stevensville. She was uninjured in the incident and is cooperating with police as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
Emergency medical services personnel from Queen Anne\u2019s County responded to the scene along with Maryland State Police from the Centreville Barrack.
