Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Harford County
(Whiteford, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred last night.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of the 2600 block of Whiteford Road. According to a preliminary investigation, a Honda motorcycle was traveling north when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. The operator of a Honda motorcycle involved in the crash, identified as Jason Birley, 50, of Fawn Grove, PA, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Harford County Emergency Medical Services personnel.
Whiteford Road was closed for approximately two and a half hours following the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
