Maryland State Police Arrest Cecil County Man On Child Pornography Charges

(PORT DEPOSIT, MD) – Maryland State Police computer crimes investigators have charged a Cecil County man with the sexual solicitation of a minor, possession, and distribution of child pornography.

The suspect is identified as Cory Dorner, 35, of Rising Sun, Maryland. He is charged with two counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, one count of possession, and one count of distribution of child pornography. He was arrested by the Maryland State Police yesterday without incident and was transported to the North East Barrack for processing. He is currently being held at the Cecil County Detention Center without bond.

Beginning in April 2024, the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force initiated an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography online. Yesterday, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit served a search warrant at the identified residence of the suspect. Dorner was arrested at the scene. A preliminary forensic review of the suspect’s electronic devices revealed multiple images of child pornography.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland Center for Missing and Unidentified Persons at 1-800-637-5437.

The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit coordinates the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland that is made possible in part due to grant funds provided by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services and by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Task Force investigators focus on identifying those involved in child pornography via the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.

The investigation continues.

Cory Dorner
