Driver/passenger(s)/pedestrian: Driver Vehicle 1:  Wayne Joseph Knell, age 81, of Marion Station, MD

Victim(s)/Injuries:  Knell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Somerset County EMS.

Narrative:  On 3/26/2020 at approximately 12:41 PM, Maryland State Police responded to N/B near 30164 Hudson Corner Rd. (MD Rt. 667) for a single vehicle collision.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle, a white Mercedes convertible was traveling north on MD Rt. 667.  The driver of the Mercedes, Wayne Joseph Knell, failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole before going airborne.  It is believed that Knell was not wearing his seat belt, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.  Knell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Somerset County EMS.
