Maryland State Police Investigating Two-Vehicle Crash In Frederick County

(FREDERICK, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left four Maryland Division of Corrections inmates injured Tuesday in Frederick County.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to the area of Route 26 at Buffalo Road for a report of a two-vehicle crash that involved a Maryland Division of Corrections transport van and a dump truck.  According to a preliminary investigation, the transport van, which had four male inmates in it, attempted to make a U-turn when it was struck by the dump truck.

Three of the inmates were transported by ambulance to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The fourth inmate was transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Neither of the drivers were injured as a result of the crash. Traffic was delayed briefly in the area following the crash

The crash remains under investigation.
