UPDATE: Second Victim Identified In I-695 Double Fatal Crash

(LOCHERN, MD) — Maryland state troopers have been able to locate a relative of the victim of this morning’s double fatal crash on I-695 whose name had not been released and are releasing his name after family notification.

The victim is identified as Sedrick L. Beasley, 54, of Edgewood, Md.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Beasley was driving a 2017 Ford Focus at about 2:00 a.m. today on the inner loop of I-695 near Liberty Road, when he was struck head-on by a 2003 Subaru Forester being driven in the wrong direction.  Troopers identified the driver of the wrong way vehicle as Jorene Long, 88, of York, PA.  She was also killed in the crash.

No further information is available regarding why Long was traveling the wrong way on I-695, or where she had been since leaving her home on an errand yesterday afternoon.  The investigation is continuing.
