Maryland State Board of Education to Meet Tuesday, August 25<\/b><\/h2>\n

BALTIMORE (August 21, 2026)<\/b> \u2013 The Maryland State Board of Education <\/span>will meet <\/span>Tuesday, August 25, <\/span>9 a.m., at the Nancy S. Grasmick State Education Building, 200 W. Baltimore St., in the Board Room (7th floor).<\/span><\/p>\n

The State Board will consider adoption of the revised PreK-12 Mathematics Policy and a copayment model for the Child Care Scholarship Program. There will also be an in-depth analysis of the recent Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) results and a stakeholder engagement session from the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA).<\/span><\/p>\n

Public Comment<\/b><\/p>\n

The State Board welcomes <\/span>public comment<\/span><\/a> both in person and virtually during meetings. Registration is limited to 15 individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Up to 10 individuals are welcome in the morning and five in the afternoon. Once the maximum number is reached, additional individuals may be placed on a waiting list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration for public comment closes on Friday, August 21, at 11:59 p.m. Interested individuals can register by completing this <\/span>online form<\/span><\/a>. Confirmed registrants for public comment will be notified. Comments are limited to three minutes for each speaker and monitored by staff.<\/span><\/p>\n
