This recognition honors schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to supporting students as they plan for and pursue postsecondary pathways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through this initiative, the school increased the number of students pursuing college, technical training, military service, and other postsecondary opportunities. The school was also recognized for expanding access and support for first\u2011generation college\u2011bound students, advancing the Maryland State Department of Education\u2019s commitment to equitable outcomes across Maryland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWicomico High School\u2019s counseling team exemplifies the best of Maryland education,\u201d said <\/span><b>Dr. Carey M. Wright, State Superintendent of Schools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cTheir dedication to ensuring every student has a meaningful postsecondary plan reflects our statewide mission to prepare all learners for choice\u2011filled futures.
