Wright, State Superintendent of Schools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This recognition is a testament to their commitment to meeting the diverse needs of gifted learners and the bright future they are helping to shape for all students.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, three schools received first-time EGATE designations: <\/span><b>Ballenger Creek Elementary (Frederick County), Charles Carroll Barrister Elementary (Baltimore City),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> James McHenry Elementary\/Middle School (Baltimore City)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Benjamin Tasker Middle School (Prince George\u2019s County), Glenmount Elementary\/Middle (Baltimore City), North Bend Elementary\/Middle (Baltimore City), and Shipley\u2019s Choice Elementary (Anne Arundel County)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received their second designation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seven schools were recognized for the third time, including <\/span><b>five in Prince George\u2019s County \u2014 Accokeek Academy;\u00a0 Glenarden Woods, Heather Hills, and Valley View elementary schools; and Walker Mill Middle School \u2014 Davidson Elementary in Anne Arundel County, and Roland Park Elementary\/Middle School in Baltimore City<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2010, the EGATE program has recognized 133 public schools with outstanding gifted and talented education programs.
