Belyantsev <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and<\/span><b> Angelina Xu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Richard Montgomery High School (Montgomery County); <\/span><b>Mingni L. Dong<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Dulaney High School (Baltimore County); and <\/span><b>Minaal A. Khwaja<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Wicomico High School (Wicomico County) are among the 161 high school seniors nationwide selected for the honor by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/programs\/psp\/commission.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">White House Commission on Presidential Scholars<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe could not be more proud that four of our state\u2019s brightest students have achieved this prestigious honor,\u201d said Dr. Carey M. Wright, State Superintendent of Schools. \u201cOur scholars exemplify excellence in Maryland public education.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program has recognized and honored some of the nation\u2019s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 1979, the program was extended to students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts, and expanded in 2015 to honor students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each year, up to 161 students are selected as U.S. Presidential Scholars.
