State’s Second Annual Safety Conference Targets Prevention, Preparation<\/em><\/h3>\n

Baltimore, MD<\/p>\n

More than 200 school safety leaders from across the State will come together this week to learn the latest strategies for improving school security and maintaining constructive learning environments.<\/p>\n

The Maryland Center for School Safety is hosting its second summer conference, \u201cPrepare. Prevent. Achieve.,\u201d this Thursday and Friday in Annapolis.\u00a0 Safety experts, school security directors, and school resource officers will study a variety of issues including how best to handle critical emergencies, assessing threats, and methods of reaching students who are at risk.<\/p>\n

Participants will be briefed on real-world incidents, such as the Virginia Tech shootings and the recent unrest in Baltimore City, and how best to partner with law enforcement to keep children and educators out of harm\u2019s way.<\/p>\n
