BALTIMORE \u2013 The Maryland State Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 5, at the Maryland State Department of Education, 200 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore. It will be held in the State Board room on the 7th floor beginning at 9 a.m. <\/p>\n

In addition, the State Board will hold a work session on Monday, December 4, beginning at 10 a.m. Board members are expected to take an in-depth look at both the Bridge Plan for Academic Validation and the upcoming social studies assessment.<\/p>\n

Items on this month\u2019s regular agenda include the following (times approximate): <\/p>\n

10:20 a.m.\tFinancial Literacy<\/h3>\n

The State Board will hear a report on Maryland\u2019s Personal Financial Literacy Education Program. All 24 Maryland systems have instituted some form of financial literacy education.<\/p>\n

11:45 a.m.\tRobotics Utilization <\/h3>\n

Anne Arundel Superintendent Dr. George Arlotto will share with the State Board his system\u2019s Robotics Utilization program.<\/p>\n

\n2 p.m.\t\tBlue Ribbon Schools<\/h3>\n

The State Board will announce and recognize Maryland\u2019s newest State Blue Ribbon Schools. All six public schools will be nominated for the National Blue Ribbon in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
