Demonstrating exemplary CTE training, Maryland students challenged 6,100 other student champions from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Maryland students competing in Graphic Communications, Medical Assisting and Related Technical Math are officially among the best in the nation, returning with gold medals. Silver medals were awarded to students in Action Skills, Career Pathways \u2013 Natural Resources\/Agriculture and Nurse Assisting and Technical Computer Applications.\u00a0 Bronze medals were awarded in Community Action Project, Major Appliance and Refrigeration Technology and Medical Assisting.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">SkillsUSA Maryland has a statewide membership of 5,400 high school students. Members have consistently demonstrated their expertise and professionalism while participating throughout the year in a variety of leadership and competitive conferences.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Maryland State Department of Education, in cooperation with business, industry, and education partners, coordinates two annual statewide conferences to prepare students for this rigorous national competition.<\/p>\n<p>Maryland CTE students representing 23 counties and Baltimore City competed at the 2014 SkillsUSA State Championships held at Anne Arundel Community Television, Anne Arundel County Fire Training Academy, Center of Applied Technology North, CCBC Catonsville, Earlbeck Gases and Technologies, North County High School, Printing Specialist Corporation, Stevenson University and \u00a0Stratford University.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The following students finished the national challenge with outstanding accomplishments:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><u><br \/>\nSkillsUSA Maryland National Top Ten \u2013 2014 NLSC<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gold Medal <\/strong>\u2013 <u>Graphic Communications<\/u><br \/>\nChandler Kerr, Center of Applied Technology North \u2013 Anne Arundel County<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gold Medal <\/strong>\u2013 <u>Medical Assisting (Postsecondary)<\/u><br \/>\nAshley Koepping, Stevenson University \u2013 Baltimore, Maryland<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gold Medal<\/strong> \u2013 <u>Related Technical Math<\/u><br \/>\nPaige Stanley, Worcester Technical High School &#8211; Worcester County<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silver Medal <\/strong>\u2013<u> Action Skills<\/u><br \/>\nTyree Jackson, Center of Applied Technology North \u2013 Anne Arundel County<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silver Medal<\/strong> \u2013 <u>Career Pathways \u2013 Natural Resources &#8211; Agriculture<\/u><br \/>\nErin Green, Ashley Latour, William Remik, Frederick County Career and Technology Center \u2013 Frederick County<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silver Medal <\/strong>\u2013 <u>Nurse Assisting<\/u><br \/>\nAmber Major, Dr. James A.
