{"id":1630,"date":"2014-08-06T07:49:46","date_gmt":"2014-08-06T11:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msde\/?p=1630"},"modified":"2015-12-29T07:51:05","modified_gmt":"2015-12-29T12:51:05","slug":"maryland-will-be-part-of-u-s-education-departments-green-strides-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/msde\/maryland-will-be-part-of-u-s-education-departments-green-strides-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Maryland Will Be Part Of U.S. Education Department&#8217;s Green Strides Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>Visit Will Focus On School Environmental Health<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>For Immediate Release \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Contact: Bill Reinhard, 410-767-0486<\/p>\n<p>Maryland schools are on the itinerary for the 2014 Green Strides Best Practices Tour, announced by the U.S. Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s tour, dubbed \u201cHealthy Schools, High Achieving Students,\u201d begins this month.\u00a0 Maryland schools are on the concluding leg of the tour, Wednesday, October 8.\u00a0 Folger McKinsey Elementary in Severna Park (Anne Arundel County), Dunloggin Middle in Ellicott City (Howard County), and Francis Scott Key Middle (Montgomery County) are part of the tour.<\/p>\n<p>During the tour, federal, state and local visitors will bring attention to how school facilities, health and wellness, and environmental education affect equity and achievement.
