John Sarbanes<br \/>\nAttorney General Douglas Gansler<br \/>\nComptroller Peter Franchot<br \/>\nDenise Koch, WJZ-13, Host<br \/>\nYolanda Vazquez, Maryland Public Television, Host<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The 24th Annual Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala Reception and Dinner will spotlight our State\u2019s top educators.\u00a0 Representatives from all 24 school systems will be honored, and the top teacher will be selected from among seven finalists.\u00a0 The finalists are: Kelly O\u2019Hara, <strong><em>Cecil County<\/em><\/strong>; Erin Doolittle,<strong><em>Frederick County<\/em><\/strong>; Jody Zepp, <strong><em>Howard County<\/em><\/strong>; Jane Lindsay, <strong><em>Montgomery County<\/em><\/strong>; Anna Breland,<strong><em>Somerset County<\/em><\/strong>; Bridget Whited, <strong><em>Talbot County<\/em><\/strong>; and Courtney Leard, <strong><em>Washington County<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The winner will receive cash awards, technology equipment, national travel opportunities, and the gift of a new car valued at over $25,000, which is donated by the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association.\u00a0 Presenting sponsors of the Maryland Teacher of the Year Program are Comcast, the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association, McDonald\u2019s Family of Maryland, and Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems.
