School Leaders from Eight Systems to Participate on August 15<\/h3>\n

BALTIMORE – The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) will convene principals and assistant principals next week for a training program designed to strengthen teacher evaluation. Anne Arundel County, Prince George\u2019s County, Howard County, Charles County, Baltimore City, Dorchester County, Garrett County, and Juvenile Services Education System leaders will learn how to develop consistency in evaluation practices, enhancing the professional growth of teachers. <\/p>\n

WHAT:<\/h3>\n

\tEvaluator Training<\/p>\n

MSDE is partnering with Insight Education Group to facilitate evaluator training for school leaders. This summer, more than 170 principals and assistant principals across the State will complete evaluator training. The two-day training program focuses on identifying effective instructional practices; calibrating evaluation ratings; collecting unbiased evidence linked to student outcomes; and providing actionable feedback. August 15, 2018 is the final cohort for evaluator training this summer. <\/p>\n
