Maryland State Board of Education to Meet Tuesday, April 28
BALTIMORE (April 24, 2026) – The Maryland State Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, April 28, at 9 a.m. at the Dr. Carol S. Parham Building, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, 2644 Riva Road, in the Board Room.
The State Board will consider adoption of regulations related to charter school funding, library media services and educator licensure assessments. The Board will also receive updates on College and Career Readiness, dual enrollment data, the Division of Rehabilitation Services, and the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option Program.
In celebration of the Month of the Military Child, the State Board will recognize Maryland’s 27 Purple Star School honorees for exceptional support of military-connected students and their families.
Public Comment
The State Board welcomes public comment both in person and virtually during meetings. Registration is limited to 15 individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Up to 10 individuals are welcome in the morning and five in the afternoon. Once the maximum number is reached, additional individuals may be placed on a waiting list.
Registration for public comment closes on Friday, April 24, at 11:59 p.m. Interested individuals can register by completing this online form. Confirmed registrants for public comment will be notified. Comments are limited to three minutes for each speaker and monitored by staff.
