Maryland State Board of Education to Meet Tuesday, November 4

Meeting to highlight 2024-2025 Maryland School Report Card results and celebrate Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools

BALTIMORE (October 31, 2025) – The Maryland State Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, November 4, at 9 a.m. at the Nancy S. Grasmick State Education Building, 200 W. Baltimore St., in the Board Room (7th floor).

During the meeting, the State Board will review the Maryland School Report Card results for the 2024–2025 school year. The discussion will focus on progress made toward state education goals and continued efforts to ensure equitable outcomes for all students.

The Board will also recognize this year’s Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools, seven schools that were nominated for National Blue Ribbon recognition before the U.S. Department of Education discontinued the program in August. The newly reinstated program honors exemplary student performance on national and state assessments, in addition to schools’ progress in narrowing achievement gaps among student groups.

Updates will be provided on comprehensive health education programs for all grades, student reading support, and library media services. The Board will also share information on Maryland Works and Career Connected Learning initiatives.

In addition, the Board will hold a stakeholder engagement session with representatives from the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation and the Maryland Department of Agriculture.
