The Maryland State Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 23, at the Maryland State Department of Education, 200 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore. It will be held in the State Board room on the 7th floor beginning at 9 a.m.
Items on this month’s regular meeting agenda on Tuesday include the following:
9:05 a.m. ESSA Accountability Plan
The State Board will hear a report on Maryland’s progress in developing a new State accountability program, as required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
11:00 a.m. Testing Commission Report
The State Board will continue its discussion on the final report of the Commission to Review Maryland’s Use of Assessments and Testing in the Public Schools, released earlier this summer.
The Board also has scheduled a work session on Monday, August 22, to discuss the final report of the Commission to Review Maryland’s Use of Assessments and Testing in Public Schools. That session will get underway at 10 a.m. in Conference Room 6 on the 8th floor.
